The United States spans six main time zones: Eastern Time (ET, UTC-5/-4), Central Time (CT, UTC-6/-5), Mountain Time (MT, UTC-7/-6), Pacific Time (PT, UTC-8/-7), Alaska Time (AKT, UTC-9/-8), and Hawaii-Aleutian Time (HAT, UTC-10). Most US states observe Daylight Saving Time (DST), advancing clocks one hour in spring. New York (Eastern Time) is the most-searched US city for current local time. Los Angeles is 3 hours behind New York year-round.
Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) is UTC+5:00 — used in all cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, and Multan. Pakistan does not observe Daylight Saving Time. When it is 12:00 noon in Pakistan: it is 07:00 UTC, 08:00 AM in Dubai, 07:00 AM in London, 02:00 AM in New York, and 04:00 PM in Tokyo.
The UK uses Greenwich Mean Time (GMT, UTC+0) in winter and British Summer Time (BST, UTC+1) in summer. Clocks change on the last Sunday of March (forward) and last Sunday of October (back). Greenwich, London is the location of the Prime Meridian — 0° longitude — the global reference point for all time zones.
India Standard Time (IST) is UTC+5:30 — a single zone for the whole country with no Daylight Saving Time. The 30-minute offset balances time across India's 3,000 km east-west span. IST is 30 minutes ahead of Pakistan (UTC+5) and 30 minutes behind Bangladesh (UTC+6).
Dubai uses Gulf Standard Time (GST, UTC+4) year-round — no Daylight Saving Time. When it is noon in Dubai: 08:00 AM in London, 03:00 AM in New York, 01:00 PM in Karachi, 04:00 PM in Beijing.

There are 24 standard time zones, but over 38 distinct UTC offsets exist globally due to 30-minute and 45-minute offsets (India UTC+5:30, Nepal UTC+5:45, Iran UTC+3:30, parts of Australia UTC+9:30). The IANA Time Zone Database tracks all offsets including historical changes and DST transitions worldwide.
