🎂 Age Calculator

Calculate your exact age in years, months, days, hours — and find your next birthday countdown

How to Calculate Your Exact Age

Calculating your exact age seems straightforward — subtract your birth year from the current year — but getting it precisely right in years, months, and days requires careful handling of variable month lengths and leap years. Our age calculator uses your full date of birth and the target date to compute your age to the day, week, and total number of days lived.

Why Does Age Calculation Differ by Country?

In most Western countries, a person's age increases on their birthday each year — so someone born June 26, 1990 turns 36 on June 26, 2026. However, in some East Asian traditions (particularly Korea), a person is considered 1 year old at birth, and everyone ages by one year on New Year's Day rather than their birthday. Our calculator uses the standard Western age calculation method.

What Is a Leap Year and How Does It Affect Age?

People born on February 29 (Leap Day) only have a "real" birthday every four years. In non-leap years, they typically celebrate their birthday on either February 28 or March 1, depending on local tradition and legal convention. Our calculator handles leap year birthdays accurately for all calculations.
